| About Dunkeld, Victoria Dunkeld is located at southern end of the Grampians 253 kilometres west of Melbourne, flanked by the spectacular Mount Sturgeon and Mount Abrupt. The township was first called Mount Sturgeon, early settlers renamed the town after Dunkeld, Scotland. • A permanent population of 444 • 253 kilometres west of Melbourne • 83k from Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road • 139k to Coonawarra, South Australia wine region • 176K from Twelve Apostles Marine National Park • Southern gateway to the Grampians National Park • Mount Sturgeon (not to be missed), Mount Abrupt and Picaninny walks close by. To do River and mountain walks adjoin the property. Explore the village of Dunkeld, book shop, gallery and cafes.
